Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
PDFCompressor.site (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
The short version
Your PDF files never leave your device. Compression happens entirely inside your browser. We never see, store, or transmit your files or their contents. We do not collect any personal information.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It tracks aggregate page view counts and anonymised interaction events so we can understand how the site is used.
What we do NOT collect
- Your PDF files or any of their contents
- File names, sizes, or metadata beyond what your browser already exposes locally
- IP addresses (Umami is configured to anonymise these)
- Cookies (we set none)
- Browsing history or cross-site tracking data
How compression works (and why your files are private)
When you compress a PDF, the file is loaded into your browser's local memory. Our compression engine runs entirely within your browser tab. The compressed output is written back to your disk via a browser download. At no point does any file data transit our servers or any third-party server.
The only network request made during compression is a one-time download of the compression engine from our servers. This is a static file, not is not specific to you or your files. After the first use it is cached locally and no further network requests are made.
Data retention and deletion
Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data to retain or delete. Anonymous analytics data is retained in aggregate form only. To raise any privacy concern, email us at privacy@pdfcompressor.site.

Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations). Since we do not collect personal information, the practical scope of this is limited. Contact privacy@pdfcompressor.site with any requests.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
